The similarity between the title of the project and the historic group couldn’t have been a coincidence. So it’s probably no surprise that just the words “ Tuskegee Heirs” got me pretty excited.įirst was the title. But it was mostly because they were just the coolest. This was in part because my grandfather, himself a member of the esteemed group, was pretty tight-lipped about his own experience when I was younger. I read biographies, killed my Tuskegee Airmen videotape, did my best to know everything possible about the people and the times. As a kid, I was completely obsessed with the Tuskegee Airmen.
